Central Frontier Assistant Safety Officer

"Old School"

Archie J. Chapman Sr.

I was born and raised in Galveston Texas, with permanent residence in Friendswood Texas. I represent the Central Frontier and is a member of the Houston Chapter of the National Association of the Buffalo Soldiers and Troopers Motorcycle Club (NABSTMC) since January 2004.

I currently ride a 2016 Harley-Davidson, Ultra Road Glide CVO. I have been a licensed motorcycle rider since 1983 (36+ years). I have been a Nationally Certified Motorcycle Safety Foundation Instructor since 2007 (12+years), and Harley-Davidson Certified Rider Coach. I’m currently certified to teach the Basic Rider Course, 3-Wheel Basic rider Course, Returning Rider Basic Rider Course, Introductory Motorcycle Rider Course, as well as both the Basic Rider Course 2 – (License Waiver and Skill Practice Course).

As a member of the NABSTMC Safety Team, this role has been an extension of my military qualifications as an Aviation and Ground Safety Officer. I have been riding with organized motorcycle organizations/groups for 36 years, enjoying the privy for comradeship as well as witnessing/experiencing the hazards associated with motorcycle riding, both as a group rider and designated Road Captain. Upon my membership in the Houston Chapter, I was quickly designated as the Chapter Road Captain due to my experience with group riding. As one on the most experienced riders and one frequently sought for motorcycle/riding advice, I felt that I could best serve as a certified instructor, which led me to become Nationally Certified. With the introduction of the NABSTMC Safety Program, via the 2017 Road Captains Course, it was then that I felt that my commitment to safe motorcycling could be extended as a member of the National Safety Team.
